Torres Strait Prawn Fishery Management Arrangements Booklet

The TSPF Handbook 2016 has been updated this year and renamed the TSPF Management Arrangements Booklet (MAB), to reflect changes to the fishery harvest strategy as well as the list of allowable bycatch reduction devices.

Further updates are also included:

  • Adding a fishery snapshot table with important fishery rules at the front of the book.
  • Updating protocols for visiting Torres Strait communities.
  • Updates to bycatch species rules, including no take finfish species and size limits to some finfish species.
  • Links to update bycatch handling procedures.
  • Updates links to current VMS temporary switch off and manual reporting requirements and VMS guidelines for the fishery.
  • An update of current legislative instruments as of July 2024.

This MAB will be updated from time to time as management arrangements in the fishery change. A reminder this MAB acts as a guide, and it is the licence holder's responsibility to ensure they, and their crew understand the current legislative requirements.
